I have three specimens (still looking for the elusive <em>jamesoniana<\/em> &#8211; if you have any, I have a large division of <em>humboldtii<\/em> to trade). It struck me the other morning what a nice gradation of shape one sees in the leaves of my three:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>U. humboldtii<\/em> &#8211; a pretty fan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2432\/3830989593_4bd9b24f36_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2432\/3830989593_4bd9b24f36.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>U. reniformis<\/em> &#8211; the fan is wide open!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3510\/3831785956_7ec6bb3852_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3510\/3831785956_7ec6bb3852.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>U. nelumbifolia<\/em> &#8211; the edges meet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3533\/3830989275_547347e419_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3533\/3830989275_547347e419.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(In fact, some <em>nelumbifolia<\/em> leaves resemble <em>reniformis<\/em> &#8211; see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sarracenia.com\/photos\/utricularia\/utricnelum001.jpg\">this picture<\/a> from sarracenia.com.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And <em>nelumbifolia&#8217;s<\/em> eponym, <em>Nelumbo<\/em> &#8216;Chawan Basu&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2584\/3830992409_5c24bb46f3_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2584\/3830992409_5c24bb46f3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">All of the carnivores are loving the summer sun.
