There are <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gouldian_Finch\">Gouldian finches<\/a> and an <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aracari\">ara\u00e7ari<\/a> named Lance in the store &#8211; other birds, too, but theses two enclosures (Lance especially) captivated me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Dendrobates leucomelas<\/em> Guyana Banded. Love these guys. Black Jungle&#8217;s banded leucs seem pretty bold &#8211; most others I&#8217;ve seen have been very shy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4033\/4715703700_58eba33f95_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4033\/4715703700_58eba33f95.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4033\/4715703700_58eba33f95_b.jpg\"><\/a>*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Dendrobates auratus<\/em>. When I first got interested in dart frogs I was lukewarm on <em>auratus<\/em>. They had some <em>great<\/em> critters with them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Elliot the Umbrella Cockatoo. Elliot has more personality than some people I&#8217;ve met. He is an extrovert &#8211; within a couple minutes of him stepping onto my hand he and I were talking to each other, bobbing around and having a great time (at least I was &#8211; if Elliot wasn&#8217;t, he fakes it well).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4064\/4715060099_41121a04d3_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4064\/4715060099_41121a04d3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He thought that posing for\u00a0photographs\u00a0was pretty weak tea after our Soul Train session; the people looking at <em>Sarracenia<\/em> might want to have some fun, perhaps?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4030\/4715702372_8d65cfb58b_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4030\/4715702372_8d65cfb58b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Skoochee the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Coati\">Coati<\/a>, so named because he puts his front paws out through the door of his crate and Flintstones himself around the room. For folks who are\u00a0unfamiliar\u00a0with Coatis &#8211; they are cousins of the raccoon from Central and South America.
