It is a near-perfect book store. Things it does not have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>endcap displays<\/li>\n<li>DVDs<\/li>\n<li>a coffee stand\/counter (actually, not the worst thing that ever happened to a bookstore, but something that definitely distinguishes NEMBF from a chain)<\/li>\n<li>glossy formica &#8211; except perhaps at the registers<\/li>\n<li>wheels (it hasn&#8217;t been mobile since basically forever)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It does have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>books, books and more books<\/li>\n<li>funkadelic shelves<\/li>\n<li>labyrinthine floor plan (in the remainders area &#8211; where I do most of my browsing)<\/li>\n<li>great clippings, pictures and signs on the walls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A slide show to give you a taste&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" align=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/slideShow\/index.gne?group_id=&#038;user_id=&#038;set_id=72157604318107079&#038;tags=Cars,Lotus,Exige\" frameBorder=\"0\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><br \/><small>Created with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.admarket.se\" title=\"Admarket.se\">Admarket&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/flickrslidr.com\" title=\"flickrSLiDR\">flickrSLiDR<\/a>.<\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the way home yesterday, I was able to swing into one of the most dangerous places north of New York: the New England Mobile Book Fair.
