I&#8217;ve sat through more than my share of mind-numbing bullet-point recitations &#8211; I tend to agree with <a title=\"ppt does rocket science\" href=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtufte.com\/bboard\/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=0001yB&#038;topic_id=1\">Edward Tufte<\/a> that PowerPoint has been, taken as a whole, a net loss to the sum of human knowledge. <a href=\"http:\/\/crookedtimber.org\/\">Crooked Timber&#8217;s<\/a> John Holbo (he of the <a title=\"ponies!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hawkdog.net\/wordpress\/archives\/15\">pony<\/a>) has a great post on PowerPoint&#8217;s <a title=\"ppt corrupts\" href=\"http:\/\/crookedtimber.org\/2006\/08\/11\/powerpoint-corrupts-the-point-absolutely\/\">use and misuse<\/a> in the Pentagon. It&#8217;s really quite chilling &#8211; slides as a substitute for orders.
