I have to admit, some of this is a bit over my head &#8211; a semiotician, I&#8217;m not- but the general outline is very interesting, We meet our old friend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawkdog.net\/wordpress\/archives\/25\">John Wilkins<\/a> and another key player in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/redirect.html?link_code=ur2&#038;tag=hawkdog-20&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fproduct%2F0380977427%2Fsr%3D1-1%2Fqid%3D1154991525%2Fref%3Dpd_bbs_1%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks\">Baroque Cycle<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gottfried_Leibniz\">Gottfried Leibniz<\/a>. Also making an appearance &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kircher\">Athanasius Kircher<\/a> (aka The Last Man to Know Everything). There is a link to the Kircher Society in my blogroll.<\/p>\n<p>Coincidentally, I&#8217;m reading a history of the Silk Road.
