Today I thought I&#8217;d read around a bit and found that I&#8217;d arrived a bit too late. They are marking the <a href=\"http:\/\/nielsenhayden.com\/makinglight\/archives\/008033.html#008033\">passing<\/a> of their friend John M. Ford who died Monday. I thought I&#8217;d quote two of the things he wrote (in comments!) on the site &#8211; just because I like them so much.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Against Entropy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The worm drives helically through the wood<br \/>\nAnd does not know the dust left in the bore<br \/>\nOnce made the table integral and good;<br \/>\nAnd suddenly the crystal hits the floor.<br \/>\nElectrons find their paths in subtle ways,<br \/>\nA massless eddy in a trail of smoke;<br \/>\nThe names of lovers, light of other days\u00e2\u20ac\u201d<br \/>\nPerhaps you will not miss them.
