I&#8217;m going to spotlight three little guys.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orchidspng.com\/Mediocalcar.html\"><em>Mediocalar bifolium<\/em><\/a> &#8211; from the cloud forests of New Guinea and some adjacent islands. The combination of white outer and red base makes me think of a partridgeberry flower\/fruit mash-up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3423\/3278935155_301e82298a_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3423\/3278935155_301e82298a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orchidspecies.com\/pleurtruncata.htm\"><em>Pleurothallis truncata<\/em><\/a> &#8211; from montane Ecuador. Quite a few pleorothallids like to sent their flowers out from the center of their leaves &#8211; I picked up a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orchidspecies.com\/pleurpalliolata.htm\"><em>P. palliolata<\/em><\/a> for the big viv &#8211; when\/if it flowers I&#8217;ll post some pix.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3526\/3279756638_ac085bcf74_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3526\/3279756638_ac085bcf74.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orchidspecies.com\/mastridens.htm\"><em>Masdevallia tridens<\/em><\/a> &#8211; another cloud forest orchid from Ecuador. Cloud forest plants are often gorgeous, but almost always tricky to grow &#8211; lots of light, lots of humidity, lots of air movement and cool, stable temps &#8211; conditions that are not easy to replicate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3528\/3279758878_34feed7308_b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3528\/3279758878_34feed7308.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If it&#8217;s February, it must be orchid show time (here&#8217;s last year&#8217;s trip).
