neato – what are you using for filtration that the fry don’t get sucked in? What species? The parents are good parents and aren’t eating their young, I suppose?
I’m using a modified Hamburg Mattenfilter – instead of an aitlift I have a small powerhead circulating water. With the large filter surface, the fry are able to swim right up to the foam w/o getting sucked against it.
They were sold to me as Pelvicachromis sacrimontis – I need to have someone who knows more about W. African cichlids verify – I haven’t seen any pics of sacrimontis that have prominent caudal ocella.
